Alan and Kate Richmond retired to Crich back in 2017. On noticing the poor state of the telephone kiosk on Crich Market Place they have come up with a plan to bring it back to life.
They contacted Community Heartbeat Trust who are willing to install a defibrilator, refit the door closer and re-paint the kiosk, giving it a new lease of life.
It does'nt end there though! Alan and Kate would also like to replace the glass panels with stained glass, with each panel representing a different organisation from within the community.
Of cousre this all requires cash and they are now in the process of fund raising for £2000.
The Comrades Club are pleased to offer support for this project and along with Alan and Kate will be staging some fund raising events in the not too distant future. Alan and Kate used to be members of a music theatre so are not short on ideas.
Watch this space and keep an eye out for fliers.

Crich Comrades Club
The Comrades Club is an independent members club run by an annually elected management committee situated in the centre of Crich village. It is home to the Crich and District British Legion Branch who meet on the first Sunday of every month, however the club proudly remains independent of all other such clubs and organisations and is not a member of the Club and Institute Union (CIU).
The Club has a fully licensed competitively priced bar, where you can purchase drinks from a wide range of draught beers, lagers, ciders, bottled beers and cask ales. There is live music and entertainment most Saturday nights.
Quiz nights followed by Play Your Cards Right with wine and cash prizes are held regularly every other Thursday.
Every Friday we play the Find the Joker Game where members have an oppurtunity to win a major cash prize (must be a fully paid up member of the Club to win).
The Club boasts a tournament size snooker table where you only pay for the table light. We have both a snooker team and pool team who both play in local leagues, new players always welcome.
There is a large screen TV available for viewing big events and sporting occassions provided its use does not interfere with other events.
